Button Snake

I found this FUN idea on What Did We Do All Day and quickly made one for James. It's a great way to teach children how to button.

It's sooo easy to make - you attach a button to the end of a ribbon, then cut slits into little squares of felt and voila! a button snake is born. I made a loop at the "tail" end of the snake to act as a stop and also so James could carry it around, which he did. :)

This idea rocks! I linked to it on my weekly roundup (yeah, I'm a bit slow getting around this time!) - thanks so much for sharing. After four nieces and one daughter, I finally have a nephew, so I am really excited to find a "boy" handmade toy!

I am loving all of your ideas! And the ones you share from others! I just made one of these for my almost 3 year old! I'm sure she'll be a buttoning pro in no time! :) Thanks for sharing!

This is beautiful. I'm making one for my classroom now. Just curious, how did you attach the button to the ribbin exactly? Thank you for sharing your work.
